Chromebook Care & Support

Students are responsible for properly caring for their school-issued Chromebook and accessories. Following the expectations below helps protect the device, prevent damage, and ensure it remains ready for learning each day.

Carry It Safely

Keep the Chromebook closed when carrying it and use the provided protective case whenever the device is transported

Protect the Screen

Never place pressure on the screen or leave pens, pencils, notebooks, or other objects on the keyboard before closing the lid.

Keep Food & Drinks Away

Keep liquids, food, and other items that could damage the Chromebook away from the device while it is in use.

Charge & Store Properly

Charge the Chromebook regularly, shut it down when appropriate, and store it where it will not be crushed, dropped, or exposed to extreme temperatures.

Chromebook Care Expectations

    • Keep food and drinks away from the Chromebook.
    • Insert chargers, cables, and accessories carefully.
    • Do not carry the Chromebook with the screen open.
    • Do not throw, drop, slam, or intentionally mishandle the device.
    • Do not expose the Chromebook to extreme heat, cold, or direct sunlight.
    • Never force the Chromebook into an overcrowded backpack or locker.

    • Use the provided protective case when transporting the Chromebook.
    • Handle backpacks and cases carefully when the Chromebook is inside.
    • Store the device in a safe location where it will not be stepped on, crushed, or dropped.
    • Do not place heavy objects on top of the Chromebook.

    • Do not lean on or press against the screen.
    • Do not poke or touch the screen with sharp objects.
    • Never close the lid when pencils, pens, earbuds, papers, or other objects are on the keyboard.
    • Clean the screen only with an appropriate soft microfiber cloth or approved electronics-cleaning product.
    • Do not spray cleaner directly onto the device.

    • Do not write, draw, paint, carve, scratch, or place unauthorized stickers on the Chromebook or case.
    • Do not remove school labels, asset tags, identification labels, or protective materials.
    • Do not intentionally alter, damage, or disable hardware or software.

    • Students are responsible for school-issued chargers and accessories.
    • Keep cords neatly stored and avoid bending or pulling cables excessively.
    • Do not force chargers into ports.
    • Report damaged chargers or accessories rather than continuing to use them.

Damaged or Not Working

If your Chromebook is damaged, will not turn on, has a broken screen, has charging problems, or is otherwise not working correctly, report the problem as soon as possible.

Do not attempt to repair the Chromebook yourself.

Lost or Missing

If a Chromebook, charger, or other school-issued technology is lost or missing, notify school staff promptly so the issue can be documented and the appropriate next steps can be taken.

Responsibility for Damage or Loss

Students and families may be responsible for repair or replacement costs when damage or loss results from misuse, negligence, intentional damage, or failure to follow school technology expectations, consistent with school policy.
